Geo is a human-centered software engineer. What that means, in a practical sense, is that he solves problems. Geo accomplishes this by first understanding the needs of the people who will use the products he creates. He learns the “why” of what they want, which leads to the best possible solutions that are functional and, critically, a joy rather than a hindrance to use.

Geo works best by jumping in with both feet when starting a project. His palpable enthusiasm and unflinching determination show up in his work for clients prior to his start at Taproot, including Artia Solutions, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, and Danfoss Turbocor.

His love of software began with video games and has evolved into launching new development teams, guiding engineers through new technologies, and watching the people around him grow to reach their potential. Geo’s knowledge of coding languages and software solutions includes Javascript, Typescript, React, Angular, ASP.NET Core and Node.js, but is constantly expanding as he takes on additional challenges and develops new skill sets.

When not working with software, Geo springs from one obsession to another, moving from Pokémon cards and film development to papermaking and bread-making—-and then to whatever comes next, roughly six months after his last pursuit. Geo also loves to visit vegan restaurants in other cities with his wife while traveling.
